The Evans Gambit - An overview
In his overview, IM Valeri Lilov names the Evans Gambit "one of the most exciting opening variations starting with 1.e4 e5". White sacrifices material (at least a pawn) and in return gains real attacking chances against the black position. As a result, the player with the better theoretical knowledge usually has the better chances. The material compiled by Lilov is an excellent starting point if you want to include this opening in your repertoire or, as Black, have to reckon with it.
