Many files under Windows have the extension *.DLL.

This file extension generally marks system libraries that certain programs access repeatedly. Depending on the Windows version, files with the same name are "gently" modified, which can sometimes lead to problems.

If you have problems with a piece of software, always provide the version number and creation date.
