Fritz 21 Handbook

Move Input

When entering moves on the 2D board the source square is clearly marked.

Example

White selects the pawn on e2 and moves it while holding down the mouse button. The source square e2 is marked with a small circle. As you drag the piece across the board you can see clearly which square the piece will be released on.

If White continues to move the pawn to the square e4, that destination square is reached and the move is performed when the mouse button is released.

This visual feedback is also useful in rated games and games on the Playchess chess server.
