Fritz 21 Handbook

Nodes

Many chess engines display the information "nodes per second" in the analysis window. This unit of measure is generally interpreted as how many positions a chess engine evaluates per second.

Example

Fast programs evaluate over one million positions per second on current top hardware!

The display can be set individually in Fritz.

Right-click on the node counter.

Switch view

You can now display either the total number of evaluated positions or the number per second.
