Tip on the Syzygy databases

Question: I bought and installed the Endgame Turbo with the Syzygy databases. However, I have the impression that Fritz 20 is not using the files. The paths to the TableBases have been set automatically and to my mind agree with the installation on the hard disk (e.g. D:\Tablebases\Syzygy345). A first test was negative, even when I use an engine that supports this data format.

Can you give me a tip how I can run a definitive test, and what I can do if the Endgame Turbo really is not engaging?

Answer: If the engine is installed and the access to the endgame tables is configured in the options, set up a simple endgame via position entry or load a game with an endgame.

Then start the infinite analysis and pay attention to whether the desired information from the endgame databases is now displayed.

Looking more closely, the access to the available endgame tables is also displayed in the engine window.

The access display is highlighted in colour for clarity.

Example

If, despite correctly configured paths and integration, no information is displayed, note the following: The tb access display is only visible if only one variation is set.

Note: In multi-variation mode this information is not displayed!
