Can you play from a given position against Fritz, Komodo or Houdini? When I try this, I always have to force the chess engine's reply manually. How do I get the engine to play its reply on its own?

You can play against the program from any position. This can be a position set directly via the position setup, but it also works with stored positions that you load from a database.

Load a game or enter a position.

Right-click on the chess clock to activate the desired playing level.

Once you have defined the playing level, play mode is active and the program plays its responses on its own – in contrast to the analysis mode.
