Question: I would like to enter a game from a newspaper that, for example, begins with the 18th move and has the remaining moves numbered consecutively. How does this work?

Answer: In the dialogue for entering the position you will find the entry "Move number".

Example

With the field "Move number" you can set exactly the specification for the numbering.
