The settings that control how clocks, the notation and game annotations are displayed and stored are spread across three tabs of the Options dialog (File – Options).
Notation tab
This tab controls how moves are written and shown in the notation pane.
Notation: choose the move format. Four options are available: 1.d4 (short algebraic), 1.d2-d4 (long algebraic), 1.P-Q4 (descriptive) and 1.4244 (correspondence numeric).
Piece names: enter your own piece letters or use the “Pieces”, “Figurines” or “KQNBRP” buttons to fill in the language-specific names, the figurine font, or the standard English letters.
View: select the notation font, switch the material and evaluation profile display on or off.
Annotations: enable training questions and diagrams within the notation.
Evaluation: choose how engine evaluations are displayed in the notation. Four choices are offered: (none), Centipawn, Win probability or Both.
Misc tab
The clock settings live in the “Clock” group of the Misc tab.
Clock style: choose Digital, Analog or Double digital. The double-digital clock is only displayed when the clock window is tall enough to show two clocks stacked one above the other.
Time difference: shows how much time each side has used compared to the other.
Logo in Clock: displays the logo of the active chess engine next to the chess clock.
Game tab
What the program records into the notation while you play is set in the “Annotations” group of the Game tab.
Store thinking time: writes the time each side has used after every move into the notation.
Store evaluations: records the engine’s evaluation and search depth after every move (in the form value/depth).
Store expected moves: records the move the engine expected whenever the opponent played something different.
